" We have donated at retailers towards Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, never thinking that one day we would need assistance; we are truly grateful to the SVMH Foundation and CMN Hospitals for helping Lalito get hearing aids."
In May of 2021, Eduardo was welcomed into the world by his loving parents and brothers. At just 2 weeks old, Eduardo (lovingly nicknamed “Lalito”) underwent a routine newborn checkup where he failed three different newborn hearing screenings. After additional testing, Eduardo was diagnosed with mild to moderate sensorineural bilateral hearing loss. Eduardo’s diagnosis came as a surprise to his family, but they never failed to tell him how much he was loved.
Eduardo’s parents advocated for their son's needs and sought out the assistance of our local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Program at Salinas Valley Health Foundation. Through the "Making More Miracles" program, Eduardo’s parents received a grant to purchase a permanent set of hearing aids. It was at 3 months old that Eduardo received his first pair of hearing aids and his family noticed an immediate improvement in his hearing. For the first time ever, Eduardo was able to hear his family's loving voices.
Eduardo’s mother has shared her gratitude by saying, “We have donated at retailers towards Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, never thinking that one day we would need assistance; we are truly grateful to the Salinas Valley Health Foundation and CMN Hospitals for helping Lalito get hearing aids.”
