Mexican Indigenous Interpretation Services
We are partnering with Translating Interpreting Services LLC (TIS) to provide Mexican Indigenous interpreting services for patients and their families. This new addition to our interpreting services will help bridge communication gaps and ensure that our Indigenous patients receive the care they deserve in their own language.
We are constantly seeking to improve overall patient experience and outcomes. Therefore, providing interpreters who speak the patient’s native language is crucial for us to achieve this. We are committed to enhancing our services and supporting the cultural and linguistic needs of our diverse community.
“Having Indigenous interpreters available at our medical center is vital to ensuring that every patient feels heard, understood and respected in their care journey. Language should never be a barrier to health and healing, and by bridging this gap, we honor the rich diversity of our community. We’re excited to take this step forward in creating a truly inclusive environment where everyone can receive the care they deserve.” - William Tienken, Patient Care Services Manager at Salinas Valley Health
Interpretation services are offered in person, virtually and over-the-phone. Languages offered are:
- Mixteco Alto/Bajo
- Triqui Alto/Bajo
- Zapoteco Alto
