Salinas Valley Health Accepting Applications to Fill Vacant Board Seat

February 11, 2025 – Salinas Valley Health is accepting applications to fill a vacancy on the Board of Directors. This position fills the unexpired term of former board member Juan Cabrera who recently submitted his resignation for personal reasons.

The seat is for residents of Electoral Zone 3.  The appointee must be a registered voter in the Healthcare district and reside in Salinas Valley Health District Zone 3. The person appointed to this position must not have plans to move from Zone 3 before the end of the appointment term in December 2026.

Salinas Valley Health is a public district Healthcare System and is governed by a publicly elected Board of Directors, each serving a staggered, four-year term, and each representing a specific zone within the district. Board members receive a $100 stipend for each meeting attended, with a maximum of $500 per month.

Board meetings are held on the fourth Thursday of each month, except for the months of November and December, when meetings are held on the third Thursday of the month. Directors serve on up to three Board sub-committees, which meet either monthly or quarterly.

The Board of Directors intends to make the appointment to fill this vacancy on March 24, 2025. Applications will be accepted until 5:00 pm on March 5, 2025 and are available at salinsvalleyhealth.com/BoardVacancy.
