“This was a lovely surprise! As a charge nurse, I always make sure I am there for my team. I listen to them and help them in any way I can,” said Kimberly Jacobs, BSN, RN, PCCN. “That’s the main goal. I want to make sure our nurses are taken care of so they can provide the best medical care possible to our patients. I’m very grateful for our nursing and leadership team here at Salinas Valley Health.”
"Kimberly is a stellar Charge Nurse and preceptor who exemplifies patient-centered care with unwavering compassion,” shared Vicky Heitzman, Clinical Manager, Heart Center. “In the most challenging circumstances, when shifts are demanding, and her fellow nurses are worn out, Kim remains a calming presence, offering support and making even the toughest situations seem manageable. Her dedication to her patients and colleagues reflects the essence of what it means to be a DAISY Award recipient."
Kimberly joined Salinas Valley Health in 2019 as a nurse in our Mother/Baby unit and in 2022 transferred to the Heart Center. This is her second nomination and first DAISY Award. She says she is proud of her profession and proud of her Native American roots. Kimberly is a member of the Summit Lake Paiute Tribe from the state of Nevada.
