October 8, 2024 – Salinas Valley Health is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Timothy Albert as Chief Clinical Officer. Dr. Albert previously served as a cardiologist at Salinas Valley Health from 2006 to 2015. He returns to the organization having held healthcare leadership positions in both Georgia and Southern California, including CEO and Executive Medical Director at Huntington Medical Foundation in Pasadena, California.

In his new role, Dr. Albert will oversee both hospital based and outpatient clinical operations at Salinas Valley Health Medical Center, a 263-bed acute care hospital serving Monterey County, and the Salinas Valley Health Clinics, an integrated network of primary and specialty care clinics.

"I’m thrilled to return to this diverse region and contribute to the mission of Salinas Valley Health,” said Dr. Timothy Albert, Chief Clinical Officer. “The exceptional quality of care provided at every level of this organization is nationally recognized and it’s an honor to work with such a dedicated team of professionals.”

"We are incredibly fortunate to have Dr. Albert return to Salinas Valley Health," said Dr. Allen Radner, President/CEO of Salinas Valley Health. "His extensive leadership experience and deep understanding of our organization make him an excellent fit to lead our clinical operations and serve our population’s growing health needs.”

Dr. Radner led the work to build-out the Salinas Valley Health clinic system which expands local access to quality care with nearly 200 physicians focused on patient services. In June, the publically elected district Board of Directors selected Dr. Radner to take the helm of the entire organization as President/CEO of Salinas Valley Health.

“Even in the relatively short time I’ve been away from the area, the transformation of Salinas Valley Health is significant,” says Dr. Albert. “It is amazing for me to see what an integrated, seamless system this public district organization has become. The commitment to serve everyone in our community is aligned with my values and I am excited to be back in the community where I started my career.

Upon finalizing Dr. Albert’s selection, Dr. Radner and the Board of Directors expressed profound gratitude to Monterey County’s Dr. James Gilbert for his extraordinary leadership over the past year. At Dr. Radner’s request, Dr. Gilbert emerged from retirement to provide tremendous leadership, knowledge and continuity in an interim position. Dr. Gilbert now resumes his well-deserved retirement.
