Victor Rey Named 2023 Top Governance Leader

July 19, 2023 - Salinas Valley Health is proud to announce that Victor Rey, President, Salinas Valley Health Board of Directors is named to Modern Healthcare Excellence in Governance class of 2023. The honor follows national recognition by Modern Healthcare in 2021 honoring Salinas Valley Health president/CEO Pete Delgado as a top diversity leader.

Modern Healthcare Excellence in Governance program selects 12 directors from across the nation as influential individuals who serve on a board of directors for a healthcare organization and foster advance in culture, mission and performance. Rey currently serves as president of the publicly elected board of directors for Salinas Valley Health. He first joined Salinas Valley Health in 2012.

Rey was early champion of our collaboration with Montage Health to form a united front for the good of the community. His success in bringing about this partnership has benefited thousands of residents through a range of programs, including Aspire Health plan, a non-profit organization offering benefits beyond traditional Medicare; the nationally recognized Monterey County Diabetes Collaborative and Blue Zones Project Monterey County, a comprehensive and transformative well-being dedicated to making the right choice for health and longevity, the easy choice
