A former COVID-19 patient expressed her appreciation for the compassionate and skilled care she received during her stay at Salinas Valley Health with gifts for some of her caregivers. In all, Native American artist, Mary Garza Chavez hand painted 50 crosses for staff at the medical center. Some of the nurses who work in the COVID-19 unit reunited with Mary when she came to the medical center to distribute her thank-you presents. As you can see in this report on KION-TV, the staff was as grateful to Mary for her generous gesture as she was of their for Mary as she was of their support during her hospitalization.
