Even as COVID-19 continues to change healthcare and impact all aspects of 2020, it’s important that we don’t lose sight of the many accomplishments that were achieved in 2019 in service to improving the health of our community. As the President/CEO of Salinas Valley Health, I’m tremendously proud of these accomplishments and the differences we’ve been able to make because of them.
Every year we document our organization’s accomplishments during the prior year in our annual community report. The 2019 version of our annual report – Focusing Today on Healthier Tomorrows – was just mailed out to many of our partners, and I wanted to share it with you here as well.
The 2019 community report highlights our comprehensive efforts to change how healthcare is delivered throughout Monterey County as we focus on creating a more connected healthcare system. In this way, we are working to deliver the best possible experience for our patients and help people in our community stay healthy with a more convenient, proactive approach to care.
The overall theme of the report is tied into our goal of turning Salinas Valley into a Blue Zone – a place where people live longer, happier, healthier lives.
