Salinas Valley Health Board of Directors Accepting Applications to Fill Vacant Seat

SALINAS, CA, AUGUST 29, 2018 – Salinas Valley Health is accepting applications to fill a vacancy on the Board of Directors. This position fills the unexpired term of former board member Carissa Purnell, EdD who recently submitted her resignation. This term expires December 2020.

Salinas Valley Health is a public district Healthcare System and is governed by a publicly elected Board of Directors, each serving a staggered, four year term, and each representing a specific zone within the district. Board members receive a $100 stipend for each meeting attended with a maximum of $500 per month.

The appointee must be a registered voter and a resident of the Salinas Valley Health District Zone 2. The person appointed to this position must not have plans to move from Zone 2 before the end of the term in December 2020.

Board meetings are held on the fourth Thursday of each month a except for the months of November and December, when meetings are held on the third Thursday of the month. Directors serve on up to three Board sub-committees, which meet either monthly or quarterly.

The Board of Directors intends to make the appointment to fill this vacancy on September 27, 2018 at 5pm. Applications will be accepted until 5:00 pm on September 14^th, 2018 and are available at svmh.com/BoardVacancy.
