Boys & Girls Clubs Honors Salinas Valley Health For Community Service

Salinas, CA, June 21, 2018- Salinas Valley Health has received the Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County Luis Perez Community Award for service to the community. This award honors people and organizations who demonstrate an extraordinary commitment to the youth of the community.
“The missions of our organizations to improve the health and wellbeing of our community are truly aligned,” says Pete Delgado, President/CEO of Salinas Valley Health. “The Boys and Girls Clubs are a great partner. We are honored to be recognized by them for our positive impact in our community."
Salinas Valley Health has been providing financial and leadership support for the Boys & Girls Clubs Healthy Lifestyles Program for the past 18 years. Thousands of children from throughout Monterey County have benefited from the Healthcare System’s support. Last year alone, Salinas Valley Health’s support reached 1,200 youth through the Triple Play activities which focus on the power of healthy choices regarding nutrition, fitness and relationships. Salinas Valley Health has also participated in Family Nights, providing members with the opportunity to enjoy a meal with their families and share important health and wellness resources.

Salinas Valley Health President/CEO Pete Delgado accepted the award this morning at the Boys & Girls Clubs Community Breakfast in Seaside. The Cannery Row Company and the Nancy Eccles and Homer M. Hayward Family Foundation were also honored for their community service.
