Attend Last Salinas Valley Health Farmers’ Market of the Season
SALINAS, CA, October 18, 2017 – After another successful season, the Salinas Valley Health Certified Farmers’ Market is ending on Friday. The Farmers’ Market runs from May until the middle of October and offers fresh fruits, vegetables, flowers and other items- many of them organically grown by small-scale family farmers.
“The Certified Farmers’ Market continues to be a tremendous success,” says Pete Delgado, President/CEO of Salinas Valley Health. “Every time our staff, visitors and neighbors come to the Farmers’ Market, we are actively encouraging them to eat healthy and cook with farm fresh ingredients grown in the salad bowl of the world.”
People who receive CalFresh benefits (food stamps) and who use their Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards at the Farmers’ Market can receive bonus money toward the purchase of fruits and vegetables. The Farmers’ Market is supported and funded by Salinas Valley Health.
On Friday, those shopping at the Salinas Valley Health Farmers’ Market will have the opportunity to enjoy chair massages from 1:30 pm – 5:30 pm. The massages are given by certified massage therapists and the cost is one dollar per minute. This program was recently included in to the Salinas Valley Health Farmers’ Market and has become so popular it will be brought back next year.
