“It is such a special mother’s day gift,” says mother Erika Gonzales. “Ezekiel is my little angel and he is so precious.”
Baby Ezekiel was born at 8:13 this morning, weighed 7 pounds, 13 ounces and is 20 inches long. The couple’s third son wasn’t due until May 27th but came early and quickly. Mom said she experienced a little pain at home and woke up her husband Jesus. Nurses were preparing to take her to a room when she went into labor and 15 minutes later, Ezekiel was born.
“This was a very easy delivery, especially for me,” joked dad Jesus Gonzales. “We’ve had all three of our sons here and the nurses and staff are great. We feel very well cared for at Salinas Valley Health Medical Center.”
The Gonzales’ other two sons are eight and two. They visited their new brother today and the older one gave his mom a handmade Mother’s Day card.
Years ago, Salinas Valley Health President and CEO Pete Delgado started a Mother’s Day tradition at Salinas Valley Health. Every female patient receives a rose with a card and every female employee receives a Starbuck’s gift card along with a note of appreciation.
