Valerie Chu
About the provider
Valerie Chu, PA-C, has both inpatient and outpatient cardiology experience. She evaluates and manages common cardiovascular disorders including chest pain, heart failure, stroke, hypertension, diabetes and hyperlipidemia. Chu is also adept at analyzing results for cardiac diagnostic testing. She educates patients and their families about diagnosis and treatment options – including risks and benefits – and formulates treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
Earning her bachelor of science in neurobiology, physiology and behavior at UC Davis, Chu graduated with honors in 2021. She obtained her master of medical sciences in physician assistant studies from Midwestern University in Glendale Arizona in 2024. In addition to cardiology, her education included clinical rotations in pediatrics, family medicine, psychiatry, OB/GYN, emergency medicine, internal medicine and general surgery. Chu is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
With a firm belief in health equity for all, Chu works to empower marginalized communities. In 2019, she served the Hmong community in Sacramento to provide access to free healthcare with an emphasis on preventive health screenings. Chu believes in approaching patients with empathy, working with them to develop openness and trust. She focuses on patient involvement, prevention education
and treatments tailored to the individual.
When she is not working, Chu enjoys reading autobiographies, cooking for her family and friends, traveling around the world, and practicing martial arts.
