Shin Young Park, MD

About the provider

Shin Young Park, MD, joined Salinas Valley Health Clinics General, Thoracic and Vascular Surgery in February 2018. She earned her medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in Ohio and a bachelor of science in bioengineering at the University of California San Diego, La Jolla. Dr. Park completed her surgery residency at Banner University Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona and had additional medical training in fundamental laparoscopic surgery. She is currently an associate fellow of American College of Surgeons, and is certified by the American Board of General Surgery.

Dr. Park has a particular interest in Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) pathways, as well as a compassionate and multidisciplinary approach to patient care. She treats a broad spectrum of general surgery conditions, including but not limited to hernias, gallbladder disease, breast, thyroid and parathyroid, colon, and various skin lesions.

Dr. Park grew up in California. She is fluent in English and Korean. In her leisure time, Dr. Park enjoys playing piano and guitar, cooking, photography, hiking and biking. Dr. Park also holds a first-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do.
