Family Medicine is a natural fit for Orlando Rodriguez, MD—one shared by his brothers and sisters who are also physicians. Caring for entire families and individuals from birth to end-of-life, he finds it rewarding to go beyond treating them when they are ill to helping them prevent disease and live a healthy life. Fluent in English and Spanish, Dr. Rodriguez has earned a reputation as a good listener who treats everyone with compassion. A graduate of the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) School of Medicine, he finished his medical training right here in Salinas at UCSF affiliate Natividad Medical Center. He began his medical practice and teaching career in 1983, continuing to this day as Associate Clinical Professor for Natividad-based UCSF medical students. Board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, he has taken on leadership roles that help promote excellence in patient care including as current Chief of Staff at Salinas Valley Health (2015-2017). Dr. Rodriguez and his wife reside in Monterey and have two children. An avid USC and 49er fan, he also loves traveling, fishing and playing a friendly game of poker.
