Kenneth J. Biehl, MD

About the provider

Serving in the field of radiation oncology since 2005, Kenneth J. Biehl, MD, has a broad range of experience in using radiation to treat many types of cancer. Dr. Biehl places a high priority on advancing knowledge in this field and is a Principal Investigator for Clinical Research and Clinical Trials for the Cancer Clinical Research Program at Salinas Valley Health.

His clinical skills include Gamma Knife—a noninvasive radiation therapy, LINAC-based radiosurgery, and intensity modulated radiation therapy. Dr. Biehl is also adept at image guided and adaptive radiation therapy, partial breast irradiation, prostate brachytherapy, and both high dose rate and low dose rate brachytherapy for gynecological malignancies.

Earning his medical degree at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Dr. Biehl later completed his internship at St. Mary’s Health Center in St. Louis. He returned to Washington University School of Medicine for his residency in radiation oncology, finishing this phase of specialized training in 2009.

Dr. Biehl has contributed to numerous publications on radiology and presented in national and international conferences on this area of expertise.

As a Principal Investigator for Clinical Research and Clinical Trials at the Cancer Clinical Research Program at Salinas Valley Health, Dr. Biehl works to improve patient health and care by providing access to the latest forms of cancer diagnosis and treatment. Through a diverse range of oncology research studies, cancer patients have the opportunity to test new, investigational treatments under the oversight of the Food and Drug Administration.

When not working, Dr. Biehl enjoys mountain biking, running, surfing and reading.
