She has completed several subspecialty fellowships including: MRI at Duke University, as well as cardiac CT, MRI, Nuclear Cardiology, and echocardiography at University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). She has also completed advanced training in cardiac MRI at the University of Oxford and in cardiac CT at UCLA and at Johns Hopkins University. She holds Level III certification in all cardiovascular imaging modalities including cardiac MRI (Society of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance), cardiac CT (Society of Cardiovascular CT), nuclear cardiology (American Society of Nuclear Cardiology), and echocardiography (American Society of Echocardiography). She has board certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine, American Board of Integrative Holistic Medicine, National Board of Echocardiography, and Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology. She is a member of the teaching faculty at UC San Francisco. Dr. Mukai is a Principal Investigator for Clinical Research and Clinical Trials here at Salinas Valley Health.
