Jacob Andrade, MD, PhD

With expertise in a diverse array of radiation therapies and oncology treatment, Jacob Andrade, MD, PhD, offers patients the best care options. In addition to his medical degree, Dr. Andrade earned a PhD in genetic, molecular and cellular biology, studying the role of radiation in preparing the bone marrow for cell transplantation. Dr. Andrade is a Principal Investigator for Clinical Research and Clinical Trials for the Cancer Clinical Research Program at Salinas Valley Health. His goal, along with other physicians involved in oncology research, is to improve patient health and care by providing access to the latest forms of cancer diagnosis and treatment.

Dr. Andrade’s clinical experience includes a variety of radiotherapy techniques including image-guided radiation therapy and stereotactic body radiation therapy.

As an undergraduate, Dr. Andrade received a National Institutes of Health Scholars fellowship through which he investigated the role of bone marrow cells in cardiac repair. While earning his medical degree from the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles, he served as chair of the local USC Chapter of the Latino Medical Student Association (LMSA). He also served as vice president of mentorship for the LMSA Western Region including California, Washington, Arizona, Utah and New Mexico.

Dr. Andrade has published national and international peer-reviewed journal articles and has made numerous presentations on his studies and work.
